About Adam Smale and Tyramid at the Belleville Club
The late legendary master jazz guitarist Pat Martino said, “Adam Smale is one of the serious [jazz] devotees…an exciting new voice on the scene…take notice!”
Adam’s newest project, TYRAMID (rhymes with pyramid), includes some of those best musicians on the NYC scene. This trio features Adam as guitarist and leader, drummer extraordinaire Evan Hyde, and Michael O’Brien, a highly skilled and talented bassist.
Steeped in bebop and 1960’s post-bebop influences, TYRAMID brings a fresh modern twist combined with contemporary swagger. It’s an exciting group with riveting interplay that takes the listener on a unique sonic journey with each song—a specific skill the greatest jazz groups are known for. TYRAMID will be performing many of Adam’s original compositions as well as their unique take on choice jazz standards.
