An Act of Love is an intense drama , a high stakes ride into the 1960s where small town loyalty runs into profound moral compromises. It’s a high-pressure showdown as a man of the law comes face-to-face with a man of the cloth while the rest of the town is left in the dark about the shocking killing of one of their own as complex secrets and old guilt come to light. It’s old-fashioned…in a good way…and at the same time very modern, with one actor playing the Deputy and another playing all of the other roles in a tour-de-force performance. It’s a play about sacrifice and redemption that all comes down to one thing…an act of love.
