Melt Studio + Gallery is located just outside Picton in a historical air force barrack at the newly developed Base31, Prince Edward County’s vibrant new cultural destination. The gallery is managed and run by Canadian encaustic artist Susan Wallis and is the home to her encaustic working studio. The gallery’s mandate is to foster and enhance public awareness, understanding, and appreciation for the positive cultural significance of the visual arts by showcasing all levels of visual artists and artisans in their exhibitions.

Renewal:
As the snow melts, the days stretch longer, and the world stirs with new energy, Melt invites artists to explore the theme of Renewal in their annual Spring show. This season of transformation is not just about nature’s revival—it’s about fresh starts, shifting perspectives, and the spark of possibility.
In the medium of your choice, capture the essence of rebirth, growth, and change—whether through the vibrancy of awakening landscapes, the evolution of ideas, the renewal of the human spirit, or the emergence of something entirely unexpected.
The gallery welcomes submissions that reflect the many dimensions of renewal. Let your art embody the promise of new beginnings in all its forms. This call for submissions is open to artists at any stage of their career from across Canada. Renewal is Melt’s annual juried group show and will be the first show of the season following the gallery’s winter closure.

Artists may submit a maximum of 3 pieces for jurying.

There is a $25.00 non-refundable administrative fee to submit 3 pieces. The submission fee can be sent via e-transfer to susanwallis@kos.net upon submission.

All works must be for sale and if sold are subject to 40% commission.

Submission deadline: April 27, 2025
Acceptance notification sent by: May 1, 2025
Deadline to deliver work to the gallery: May 9, 2025

Please be sure to read the show description and application questions carefully. Please ensure all photos of work are clear and high resolution.
A Gallery Contract will be provided to artists who have been juried in.
Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
