About Call for Submissions: Belonging
Intergenerational Art Installation & Storytelling Event
Quinte Arts Council Cultural Hub
Exhibition: June (Pride Month)
The Quinte Arts Council invites artists and community members of all ages to participate in a special exhibition celebrating the theme of Belonging.
This unique installation will highlight intergenerational voices, bringing together perspectives from youth, adults, and seniors to explore what belonging means within 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and beyond.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome submissions in a wide range of mediums, including:
Visual art (painting, drawing, photography, mixed media)
Textile and craft-based work
Written pieces (poetry, short reflections)
Small-scale installations
Works may explore identity, connection, acceptance, community, resilience, or personal experiences of belonging.
Storytelling Component
In addition to the exhibition, participants are invited to take part in a “Show & Story” evening, where artists and community members can share personal queer stories, reflections, or the inspiration behind their work in a welcoming, inclusive space.
Intergenerational Focus
We strongly encourage submissions that:
Reflect collaboration across generations, or
Share perspectives from different life stages
Whether you are emerging, established, or simply curious to share your voice—your story matters.
