About CALL - Student Photography Contest!

The Quinte Arts Council (QAC), in partnership with the Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board, is thrilled to announce the launch of the Student Photography Contest — an inspiring showcase of the people, places, and natural beauty that make the Bay of Quinte region unique. This collaboration aims to foster creative expression among youth while celebrating the cultural and geographic richness of our local community.

Open to students aged 7 to 18, this contest invites young photographers to share their perspective on what makes the Bay of Quinte special. Participants are encouraged to explore diverse themes, capturing everything from vibrant downtown scenes to serene lakeside sunsets, and from winter wonderlands to springtime blossoms. We want to see the region through your lens, highlighting the hidden gems and everyday moments that define our shared home.

Submissions will be evaluated based on creativity, technical skill, and the ability to convey a compelling story about the Bay of Quinte. This is a unique opportunity for young artists to have their work recognized by industry professionals and displayed for the public to enjoy. We look forward to seeing the incredible talent and diverse viewpoints of our student community.
Selected entries will have the chance to win a brand new professional digital camera, cash prizes, and the opportunity to be featured in a special exhibition at the QAC Cultural Hub in August 2026.

Contest Details:
Subject: The theme is open to interpretation — showcase your favourite places, people, and moments in the Bay of Quinte.
Seasons: Photos from any season are welcome, but must be taken between June 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026.

Age Categories: 7–9, 10–12, 13–15, 16–18. (Maximum two entries per student. Proof of age required.)
File Formats: Accepted formats include JPEG/JPG, TIFF, or PNG. Winners may be asked to provide RAW files for exhibition purposes.

All entries must be original photographs taken by the participant.

Submission Deadline: June 30, 2026. Accepted submitters will be notified in July 2026.

This is a chance for young artists to explore their creativity, develop their skills, and gain recognition for their talent — all while celebrating the incredible Bay of Quinte region.
