About Cinderella, the Musical
A young woman with no power finds that fate has conspired against her as she is forced into a life of servitude by a cruel stepmother and her two daughters, Gabrielle and Charlotte. Meanwhile, young Prince Christopher is turning 21 and is seeking a wife. Cinderella, in her rags, sadly dreams of attending the ball and is amazed when her fairy Godmother helps her to attain a temporary transformation into an elegant young lady, carriage and all. At the ball, she meets the Prince and they fall in love. With the stroke of midnight, Cinderella’s luck runs out and she must flee. After a few plot twists, these two star-crossed lovers eventually reunite.
With a lush Rodgers & Hammerstein musical score and new dialogue that crackles with sweetness and freshness by Douglas Carter Beane, this production will have you tapping your toes and humming.
