About Command Performance Choir LIVE
Our Ancestors heralded the return of longer days with bonfires, feasts, dance and song.
Command Performance Choir is preparing a Concert to celebrate the winter season and
all that the Solstice promises.
The weather, the spirit of the time of year, the people and country where these extremes
make a world carved out of ice and snow, is described in beautiful choral arrangements
and will be brought to our Community this December. The many aspects of this special
time of year have been wrought in song. Some humorous, some pagan, some vigorous
and robust, others like ice crystals, delicate as frosty breath in air. This special time of
year Canadians relish - look forward to with delight - the first snowfall, candle glow,
fireside, frosty pane, starlight, snowflakes swirling – this is being celebrated in beautiful
melodies and harmonies with a nod to our ancestors and their Joy at the return of the
Light.
The long, dark, cold days will slowly begin to lengthen after the December Solstice and
that is good cause to gather to celebrate the hope that the wait for rebirth is ending and
a New Year is upon us.
We hope you will join us. Friday December 5 th and Saturday December 6 th , 7:30 pm, St.
Mary Magdalene Church, Picton. Proceeds will go to feed the hungry in Belleville and
Picton.
