About Early Summer Show and Reception Gallery 121
EARLY SUMMER SHOW – GALLERY 121 - JUNE 2nd– JULY 11th
RECEPTION – JUNE 6th, 2026 (2pm – 4pm)
The members of Gallery 121 are pleased to present their Early Summer Show showcasing Guest Artists Emóke Wilson, Michael Amar and Featured Member Artist Cara Hancox.
Cara is a multi-dimensional artist, whose primary medium is acrylic augmented with textural media and found objects. During her years as an international designer Cara absorbed a wide range of style influences and since retiring has embraced mixed media creating both abstract and whimsical, yet bold, inspired landscape work. Cara has supported her development through local association memberships, and her paintings have been exhibited widely in the region.
Emóke Wilson claims that art has been her best friend since childhood. This show will highlight her expertise as an innovative and accomplished Mixed-Media Artist. Emóke expressionistic, exclusive one-of-a-kind 2D and 3D works are captured in unconvential ways, explaining her process as, “I wait for the material to tell me what to do.” We are excited to have the privilege of displaying Emóke’s unique pieces at 121.
Michael Amar is a well-known artist in the Hastings and Kingston areas. He has also exhibited work in a variety of venues including Agnes Etherington Art Centre, Modern Fuel Artist Run Centre (most recently 2021) and has taught visual arts at Central Technical School (full time art program), St. Lawrence College and Loyalist College. Michael works with a wide range of mediums, including steel, clay, wood, ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking. Whatever the medium Michael’s evocative work leaves a lasting impression beyond the gallery walls.
Please come and meet these exceptional artists and member artists at our Reception being held June 6th from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.
