BASE31 District presents LEARN UNDER THE LANC with professional pilot & author Lola Reid Allin.
In her personally narrated PowerPoint presentation, Lola introduces female pilots, past and present, in Canada and abroad, who are changing the face of aviation.
As a former airline transport pilot and instructor, Lola is well-positioned to explain the rewards of various aviation careers and the challenges women continue to face. She offers several possible reasons why women remain underrepresented in commercial aviation (worldwide, only 5% of pilots are female!) and why aviation and STEM careers lure few women.
Lola’s professional associations include the Ninety-Nines International Organization of Women Pilots, Women in Aviation International, Canadian Women in Aviation, and The Writers Union of Canada.
This FREE EVENT is in the EXHIBITION HALL and follows the "Meet the Author" event 2-4:30 pm.
