2nd Annual Black History Event

2ND ANNUAL MINI FAIR & SHOWCASE
Please stop in during the 2nd Annual Black History Event in Quinte West focusing on Joy and Wellness. This Family Friendly Affair will showcase the amazing artwork of Liz Hymans, feature electric performances and exhibit a mini market fair. This event was well attended last year and is sure to grow in attendance this year. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow! Reach out if you are interested in sponsoring this event.
Location: These Four Walls Art Gallery – 22 Front Street, Trenton, On Date: Saturday, February 24th 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Together, Shamsa and Abena build community and promote culture, wellness and empowerment through interactive community engagements.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS:
ABENA AND SHAMSA
Abena Green is a poet, author and writing guide. She is the Founder of Tambourine Storytelling Studio and author of Ode to the Unpraised and The Way We Hold On.
Abena is a wife and mother of two girls.
She believes art can build bridges and break walls.
Shamsa Hassan is a wife, mom of two and founder of Afiya Beauty, an inclusive skincare brand that balances scientific innovation with nature’s ability to nourish.
Through Atiya Beauty, she combines her passion for botanical research while honouring ancestral wisdom.

ABOUT OUR PARTNER ORGANIZATION: QCIC
We are pleased to collaborate this year with Quinte Cultural Innovation Committee
(QCIC). QCIC is a micro collective of residents, investors, artists, entrepreneurs, academics, consultants and community builders who live, work, play, and invest in rural Quinte region.
The Committee formed in 2022 upon the realization that Black History Month (BHM) is needing future-focused change makers to advocate for equitable recognition as other key months (Examples: Women’s History Month (WHM) and Pride Month) in rural Eastern Ontario.

These Four Walls Art Gallery sprung from the imagination of owner and artist Brandy Ringleman. These4 Walls is an art gallery, bistro, and social space hosting workshop, events, and displaying unique and eye-catching art from a wide array of artists.
