About Majolica Tile Painting Workshop
Learn a new painting technique that has been used for centuries to paint tiles and ceramics. In this three-hour workshop, you will learn how to transfer an original design onto a tile by creating a template, tracing the outline and then using overglaze to paint your image. Your instructors will be Lise Lindenberg and Perry Poupore from Palat Pottery in Belleville. Each earthenware tile is made with local Belleville clay and is suitable for mounting on a wall, in a frame, or as a coaster. Although no prior experience is necessary, it is suggested that you arrive with ideas for a design suitable for a 5" by 5" tile.
