About Over the River and Through the Woods

This modern-day heart warming comedy by playwright Joe DiPietro, tells the story of an Italian-American family facing an upheaval. Their single grandson Nick has a dream job offer to move to Seattle but both sets of his very traditionally-minded grandparents conspire to keep him close to their homes in New Jersey. As Nick's parents have already migrated to Florida, Nick is the only connection to the family close by. Both sets of grandparents devise a plan to keep Nick in New Jersey. The ensuing action is both surprising, moving and ultimately a story of an immigrant family creating a new narrative for itself. It is a play about deep familial love, intergenerational relationships and is at once hilarious and deeply touching. It had a successful run on Broadway and was hailed as "Loaded with laughs every step of the way". You wont want to miss it!
