About Painting 'Sugar Moon'
Planned in conjunction with the Municipal Heritage Committee, “Painting ‘Sugar Moon'” is this February's Heritage Arts Workshop at the Museum of Lennox & Addington. Celebrate Heritage Week with self-taught Mohawk Artist Theresa Brant. We will be recreating her painting ‘Sugar Moon’. In Theresa’s words:
“Sugar Moon” (The Last Full Moon of the Winter Season)
The first day of spring brings warmer temperatures and budding blooms, which brings […] on the Sugar Moon. This is when sugar maple trees start to produce sap, and a perfect time to set your intentions for abundance and prosperity.
Grandmother moon watches over the waters of the Earth. She controls all female life and much of the water.”
Demographic: Recommended for ages 11+ (is geared toward adults)
