About Paths and Reflections: Jodi Shuster

Jodi Shuster studied fine arts at Banff School of Fine Arts, Minneapolis College of Art and Design and Concordia University in Montreal. She also studied animation at Sheridan College and worked for two decades on children’s animation, short and feature length films and commercials in Montreal, Toronto, San Francisco and Israel. Jodi has been painting full time since 2004. She has shown her work in galleries in Toronto and Montreal and in many juried group and solo shows.
Jodi uses guache, acrylics, and oil paints for her vivid florals and landscapes.

“I am absolutely passionate about colour and gesture. While a love for colour was clearly innate, dating back to my earliest memories, my feeling for gesture developed from countless hours of life drawing, and through years of professional work in animation. My paintings combine these key elements, with the gestural strokes and lively colours expressing my joy and spontaneous reaction to the subject. ”

Jodi Shuster’s first solo show at Melt Studio and Gallery will run from July 18–August 11. Please join us for the opening reception of “Paths and Reflections” on Saturday, July 20, from 1–4 pm. All are welcome!
