About Public Art Workshop Series: Community Engaged Public Art
Public Art Workshop Series: Community Engaged Public Art w/ Hannah Doucet
Join artist Hannah Doucet to understand processes and approaches to creating community engaged public artworks, and to navigate crafting thoughtful and meaningful projects to undertake with communities that provide space for a wide range of voices and experiences.
This workshop will cover:
– Examples and descriptions of engaging community based public art works, from small-scale temporary installations, to murals, to digital works, to permanent public artworks.
– Discussions of engagement and community impact
– Best practices for working within community
– Case studies and group discussion on creative ways to approach projects
There will be a hands-on art making activity, co-creation of a simple quilt project in order to learn about the process of making work as a collective while celebrating individual voices, and bringing them together as a whole – no sewing experience needed.
Sunday May 3rd, 2026, 1-5 PM at the County Arts Lab.
