About Quinte Film Alternative presents ROSIE

A young orphaned indigenous girl is forcibly propelled into the life of her Auntie Frédérique in 1984. “Fred” owes rent and makes art with trash from Montreal’s alleys. Adding a child to her chaotic life is madness driven by necessity. State childcare is the alternative. Fred’s gender fluid friends provide a lifeline while just coping themselves. Sometimes a family is those you choose…and who choose you. (subtitled)
