About Summer Season in Prince Edward County
Theatre Meets Wine Country: County Stage Company Announces 2026 Summer Season in Prince Edward County
Visitors to Prince Edward County this summer will have even more reason to stay after sunset.
County Stage Company has announced its 2026 season, a vibrant lineup of live performances presented across some of the County’s most unique venues — from historic theatres to vineyards, barns, and outdoor stages.
Running June 19 to August 14, the season features a professional theatre ensemble living and working in the region for the summer and performing productions in rotating repertory across the County.
The season opens with First Date: A Musical Comedy at The Regent Theatre in Picton, a joyful and relatable musical comedy about the rollercoaster experience of modern dating.
At the beautifully restored Mount Tabor Playhouse, audiences can experience Mouthpiece, the award-winning Canadian play by Amy Nostbakken and Norah Sadava that blends music, movement, and spoken word to explore the inner life of a writer navigating family, ambition, and identity.
Families and visitors looking for outdoor entertainment can enjoy Pinocchio, an imaginative physical theatre adaptation staged under the open sky at The Eddie Pavilion in Wellington.
The season also includes Scripts & Sips, a series of staged readings of new Canadian plays set at Prince Edward County wineries, pairing theatre with local wine in one of the region’s most scenic settings.
“Our goal is to create theatre experiences that are deeply connected to the place we live,” says Artistic Director Heather Braaten. “Whether you’re visiting for the wineries, the beaches, or the food, we want theatre to be part of the Prince Edward County experience.”
Additional programming includes Monks, an interactive clown show returning to The Eddie’s Red Barn, and the internationally celebrated play White Rabbit Red Rabbit, performed with no rehearsal and no director.
The season reinforces Prince Edward County’s growing reputation as a destination for arts and culture.
