About The Maker's Hand: Call for Artists

Applications are now open for the 22nd edition of The Maker’s Hand! Presented annually by the Prince Edward County Arts Council, The Maker’s Hand is a prestigious fine craft show featuring a wide range of established and up-and-coming artisans from across Ontario and Quebec.

Returning to the County Arts Lab in the historic Armoury located on Picton’s bustling Main Street, this year’s show will take place from November 6th-8th, 2026. This year’s edition will feature over 25-30 booths located in the County Arts Lab and the adjoining atrium.

Artists will have the opportunity to set up their booths on Thursday afternoon, or Friday morning, as opening hours on Friday, November 6th will be from 1-8 PM. The show will be open on Saturday from 10 AM – 5 PM and Sunday from 10 AM – 4 PM, with takedown happening from 4-6 PM on Sunday afternoon.

Applicants must self-identify as a professional artist (see Canada Council for the Arts’ definition) and present functional, conceptual, or sculptural work that exhibits originality and technical excellence. Fine craft artists working in metal, jewellery, wearable art, textiles, wood, glass, paper, ceramics, and more are invited to apply. Please note, the Maker’s Hand does not accept consumable products in the show, nor do we accept soaps & bath products, or candles.

Further eligibility criteria, venue details and the application are available at themakershand.com. The application deadline is April 15th, 2026. Please direct questions about the show, or the application process to makershand@countyarts.ca.
