About Two Palettes – Different Strokes

Arts on Main Gallery presents Two Palettes – Different Strokes, a show in The Back Room with work by claudia jean mccabe and Judy Kent, on now until September 16.

Judy is a self-taught painter and nature photographer, inspired by the beauty of this Earth, the diversity of flora, fauna, and landscape in the County. Judy paints in a variety of mediums (acrylic, oil, pastel, and multimedia). For many years, Judy focused primarily on landscape paintings and nature photography.

Judy moved away from trying to document the moment with a camera to capturing the feelings of the moment. The pandemic inspired Judy to explore freedom and play through abstract painting. She uses a variety of palettes and then lets the selected paint, brushes and knives guide her creations. An intuitive painter with a passion for colour, the natural world, and being in the moment, she was a founding member of Arts on Main Gallery and continues to show her work in various County and regional locations. She is pleased to be back at Arts on Main
Gallery as a guest artist. This show includes a variety of her abstract paintings, done with acrylic paints.

Montreal-born claudia jean mccabe is a recognized Canadian painter, graphic designer, teacher, creator of musings….and dreamer.

Over the course of her artistic career, she has participated in numerous solo, featured and group exhibitions at both provincial and national levels. An award winning artist and an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists, mccabe’s paintings are held in private, corporate and government collections worldwide.
