About Using Local Clay to Make Art Tiles
Belleville Public Library and the Parrott Gallery invite you to a free presentation: "Using Local Clay to Make Art Tiles" on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. in the Third Floor Meeting Room. Join us for an exploration of 12,000-year-old glacial clay uncovered in an East Hill backyard. Hear Perry Poupore and Lise Lindenberg’s journey from digging and experimenting to developing custom clay bodies and glazes, and learn how ancient Majolica techniques transform this historic local clay into beautifully hand-painted art tiles. All are welcome to attend this free event, no registration required.
